Surrounding area The Ladybower Dam is only a short stroll away. Next to Ladybower are the Derwent and Howden Reservoirs. For those who have never experienced the majestic scenery around these three stretches of water they are in for a wonderful surprise - the most magnificent view's imaginable, excellent walks through tree lined glades, pleasant drives for the motorist and the sheer majesty of the dams, made famous by the Dambusters during the Second World War. It is said that a lifetime is not enough to appreciate the variety of the beauty and scenery of the Derbyshire Dales and Peaks. Here the rolling hills of England are robed in woodland and carved by rivers and streams. On the softer terrain there has been 5000 years of farming and the rural communities stills exist in interesting scenic villages where the folk are friendly and time moves at a leisurely pace.
